Hey everyone,

I replaced a kitchen faucet this weekend with success (it functions perfectly). The problem is that ever since the installation my pipes whine incessantly. It abates when any water faucet or appliance draws water, but immediately returns when the flow is stopped. It is very annoying and I had to shut off the water main to get some sleep last night. Any pointers would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Wierd noises like that can usually be traced to a failing toilet tank water inlet valve. Turn the water off to your toilet(s) and see if the whining goes away. If it does, replace the valve in the tank with a Fluidmaster 400A for about $5 or $6 bucks. Just follow the easy illustrated instructions that come with it.
Good Luck!
Mike
