Window won't close

1184 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Windows on Wash
I was just washing my window and opened the bottom one inward too far when the little clips snapped out (enclosed pics). I am not quite sure how to get them back in. Also, why won't the window close? It is open about 1/2 inch.

Here is a decent video.

You need to raise the window up further before you tilt it in next time. At least 8-10 inches.

You didn't raise it up far enough and when you tilted it in, it wedged into the dam leg, and you popped it out of the balance shoes.

Two things :

1. As Wow's vid shows , your balance shoes are in the locked position . spray some lube on them and turn the metal cam back & forth with screwdriver (per video).

2. Cant see what the tilt bar (3rd pic) looks like . Can you post better pics of them & the opening on the sash where they fit ?
Thank you. I got it back in but I have two little pieces left over that are in the picture I posted originally. I know where they go but I'm not sure which way they go in.

They go on the pivot pin, with the window folded in so that you can see them, to lock the window into the shoe. When you popped the window out of the shoe, you dislodged those locking clips. They are not a necessity, if you tilt the window in properly.

Thank you. I am not sure which direction they go in. Is there somewhere I can find a diagram?

They can only go in one of two ways. A bit of process of elimination here were get it figured.
