window wells, how long do they last?

anyone know how long a standard "galvanized" window well should last? mine look pretty rusty. (this house is 30 yrs. old)

Actually.....you have answered your own question.....about 30 years it would seem

Remember....anything exposed to the elements is going to deterioate....some things last longer than others....

even if they are rusty they provide some protection, if you see visible holes then time top change but some rust is not to bad. bang on them with a hammer to get a feel for how solid they sound...
so I'm going to replace both rusty wells. I've got to do some work in that area anyway. (sprinkler valves etc. and some crushed stone.) just pulled out two stumps from right in front of the wells too. (left over from the old junipers that used to be there, ugh! had to use my "come along" anchored to a strong tree) so part of the excavating is done.
been looking at plastic wells. they seem to be pretty durable. anybody had experience with these? where should I look? (these wells don't look standard) I'll post a pic later.

can't argue with you there, some of the concrete poured by the Romans is still fine!
