Will this work?

My house has vinyl siding, which has been melted along the roof line slightly, under this siding is a wood paneling, in which i see frequently in my neighborhood on finished homes, just seemingly painted. One side of my house has just the wood, no siding. I want to know if I can pull the siding off, powerwash and fill in holes, then apply a layer of kilz and then a water resistant exterior paint....any advice is welcome, thanks.. Kristy

Removing Siding

Removing the siding and just painting the wood may not work. There is no way or really telling how well that wall is constructed for waterproofing. In some cases they may only add Tyvek for a shield if any water does get behind the siding. If you are going to proceed with this project, save your siding that you remove and have someone qualified look at your wall.
