So the attached picture is basically my sump setup. The very top pipe in my situation is about 40 feet long. The problem begins when the pump shuts off, the 40-foot long stretch is full of water and very slowly and loudly chugs its way out over the course of about 2 minutes and it drives me nuts right below my bedroom. I assume the noise is the air fighting to get back up the pipe from the exit as the water slowly chugs out of the pipe. My idea is to put an AAV at the top left area of that pipe. Thoughts?

Have you verified the discharge line is not partially blocked?? They do get clogged sometimes, especially that long of one.

I'm sure you propbaly ruled these out already, but is the check valve working properly? They do go bad and need replacing eventually.

Is there at least an 1/8 or 1/4in weeping hole in the pipe below the check valve where it says air relief hole? Make sure it is not covered by water.

That chugging sound doesn't sound too bad from the outside but it's amplified by the length of pipe inside. I'm no plumber by any means but I work commercial maintenance and this thing has kicked my butt more then I'd like to admit.

AAV is not ment to be used on any pressurized discharge. So no is your answer. I just watched your video why do you have the discharge pipe cut a foot above the 4 inch?
DO you have your sump discharged pitched towards the outside once it turns horizontal?
