why manual labor ?

I only have two wires connected to thermostat, (red, white) i have a green NOT doing anything, I have a switch to cout power off at furnace, red, white IS connected at furnace, furnace ignites and works fine as long as turn toggle off, cross-red. white wires, flip toggle-works great, turn toggle off connect red, white to RTHL111(with new alk. batt.), flip toggle, nothing on therm. screen, I have a new circuit card in it, the red led does NOT come on when therm. is on it?, can you help?

pictures would help us help you...from what it sounds like ..either bad stat..or open saftey switch...ben sr
What terminals did you wire the red and white wires to on your new thermostat?
