Why don't concrete contractors need to have a state license?

I'm just curious. I don't believe they need one in my state. It seems like a critical and expensive step to repair in the building process. Why do you think they don't require a state contractor license for it? Does the responsibility just fall onto the GC?

Every state is different when it comes to licensing-----in Illinois, the only trades with licenses are plumbers and electricians---

I kind of chuckle when I see 'licensed' on a contractors truck---business license maybe--but a deceitful person in my eyes.

Always ask other contractors for your concrete needs--we know the good ones--
The ready mix plants will also know the top guys in your area.
