Go to a Plumbing Supply House and they will carry them.

As stated, If an item doesn't sell they don't carry it
And there are different levesl of stores based on volume of sales
The more a store sells, the more variety they are authorized to stock

Are you sure? Did you look closely?

The threaded connection in the picture has a male interface that inserts into the couple, vice a female interface that accepts a pipe.

I might have to check Lowe's if I need one down the line. The largest HD in my neck of the woods doesn't carry them. Just the male fitting with the female insert.

I ran into the same thing over in Alabama a few weeks ago. I went to the Lowe's and they had just about everyting but the exact same part. The home owner suggested Marvin's (a local store) and they not only had the part, but much better prices on many things than Lowes. In fact, while I was there I ran across a deal they had on DeWalt 21 piece quick change bit sets for $2.95 ($18 at Lowes/HD)... I bought 5!
I think different Lowes have different inventories. A couple of the Lowes I frequent recently stopped carrying 3/4" foamboard, but the one a few miles away still stocks it.

Yeah, around my neck of the woods, they've gotten rid of the 3" corrugated piping except for some large HD's.
