We powerwashed our siding today to help and remove the oxidation that had formed. After powerwashing, we now have all these white dots on showing. After some research I believe they are spots from the nails/fasteners. I was wondering if there is anyway to fix this. I also read some people have put in a warranty claim for this issue. Being the 2nd owners of the home, I do not know what type/brand of siding was installed. Any ideas? TIA!

If nail heads, they are mostly above where the nailing fin on the piece below would occur (and it is double lap so occuring on the middle lap). Also where they are at there is plenty of "airspace" behind the siding if you think they are protruding from the sheathing or something.

Agree on lighter under the lap and the vertical run. Maybe someone sprayed some caustic cleaner at some point? Don't know if there is anything to remove.

Sure it is vinyl siding? Looks more like aluminum because of the sharper edges. If aluminum, paint wears off, chalking. It could create uneven wear. Never seen or heard of round dots. Dots along middle of a panel because of nails? Seems unlikely. Maybe lichens? They seem to grow in circles. Middle of the photo looks like drip marks and it could be a sign that water is leaking behind the siding and draining from inside. If paint, darker areas would be dirt stains. Aluminum siding is easy to paint. Just need to be scrubbed and never point the power washer up into those open joints, if planning to paint. It would take weeks to dry.
