I recently hooked up an indirect water heater. I previously had (2) 3 wire, white Rodgers zone valves hooked up with no zone controller. I have (2) 2 wire thermostats.

Here is the wiring diagram for the wr zone valves

With the indirect, I got another wr valve and taco 3 zone controller so I could prioritize the hot water call.

The problem is the taco zone controller only shows which terminals to connect to on taco valves

So hooking up the t-stats are pretty straight forward, but in a little confused about how to hook up the valves to the controller

Any tips appreciated, thanks

I don't know how you/they got 2 wire thermostats to work with 3 wire zone valves. Those valves are power open power closed. With a 2 wire thermostat, they should have always been open.

Forgot to mention, there's a 24vdc transformer that was used for power. But the zone controller has its own transformer so I was going to just abandon it

Are you sure the zone valves were actually closing.

Post a pic of the wiring on one or both of the zone valves.
