Whirlpool Thermal High Temp Fuse Keeps Blowing

658 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  gilliger
I've got a Whirlpool WED9550WW1 (duet stackable dryer) that keeps blowing the high temp thermal fuse. The heating element is in good shape, not grounding out against the casing. Thermistor and other thermal fuse show continuity, along with the high temp thermostat. I checked the blower wheel and it seems to be operating properly. Oh, and yes, the air pathway is completely clear. Very short run to an outside wall.

Any ideas on what else it could be? I hate to mess with replacing the board until I'm 100% certain that's what it is.

I’m only guessing that a thermostat is bad and the ythermal fuse is doing its job protecting you. Is there a thermostat in the beast?
