it is a goodman model # (GPH1336H41)

i think the correct diagram is on page 22 noted: Wiring Diagram — GPH1324-42H41C* / GPH1348HA1D*

can someone please confirm? if it is, why is that extra "C" and asterisk at the end?

I do not fully understand your question. Tips - "C" --T/S wire is common 24 volts ac - simular, kind of like a negative post(-) on a 12 volt car battery. Your "C" wire starts or you could say ends @ the transformer(TR) "C" wire goes to one side of your switching devices. Some T/S needs a "C" -some don't. Might be EZ for you if you look @ the wiring pic that came with the T/S

OP, Diagram on page 22 would be the correct diagram.
