That's like asking which is better Ford or Chevy.
What's your budget?
Location also can effect the replys, it's rare to see a cedar or redwood deck on the east coast but common in the west coast.
Anything other then pressure treated is going to cost about 3 times as much.
If it has to hold up to snow shoveling you need a harder material.
Want composite or real wood?

Not sure of weather conditions in your area, but some wood can be cheaper, I'd go with a composite if given the choice. Composite won't rot, splinter or need to be resealed, so in that way composite has some advantages.

Depending on the distributor and manufacturer, wood would be cheaper, but if you want the wood to have longer longevity you'll have to seal and reseal the deck over the years.

Google "IPE" it's also called Iron Wood for a reason.
It's so hard you have to predrill it to get the screws in.
It's so dense it does not even have to be sealed if you want a natural look.
