I have a room off my detached garage that is 200 sq. ft and a vaulted ceiling about 14ft at its highest point.

I have a window air conditioner/heat pump that when on heat is 240v/15.5 amps. it has a thermostat, but the fan runs 24/7. This unit takes no time at all to bring room to temperature.

I also have a portable oil filled radiator type heater they is 110v/12.5 amps and thermostically controled (no fan). this maintains tempereature, but the heat elements seem to com on a lot.

My question is - which is cheaper to run on a 24/7 basis?
Thanks

the a/c unit would be way cheaper, but why would the fan run all the time. I think there should be a setting that the fan turns off with the compressor.

Thanks for the reply
unfortunatley there is not. it has a temperature control and then the control to set it to:
Off
Cool High
Cool Low
Fan High
Fan Low
heat
