I know that its an old post, but if any one stumbles in to it, like myself, this added info would be helpfull for them.

1. Short cycling of a pump can happen even after less than a tea cup amount of water. Caused by no air and leaking bladder in the tank. These combined will get your presure from 5bar to 3bar in a sec.

2. Actual on/off duty for a pump can be managed through a pressure switch

Just happens that while repairing my 60l. tank I buyed another one for the mean time usage. And the best part of DIY lifestyle is, that i have ended up with a 120l system with by far lesser than half on duty cycles
