Hello:

I'm looking to install some continuous soffits and a ridge vent.

What are some good ridge vents to look into?
The only ones I know of are the ones at HD/Lowes and they look like junk.
I heard that sometimes they clog, etc...

Any help is appreciated.

I've also used the ones sold at Home Depot and never had any issues with them.

That's good to know, as long as they work and are installed properly I'm ok with using them.
I heard that sometimes that they clog and leak so I dismissed them.
I look into them again.

Main thing I've seen when a ridge vent leaks is however installed it cut the roof to far back.

I installed a ton of ridge vent over the years. I thought it was the greatest stuff in the world. Toward the end of my roofing career I began to notice that sometimes those fiberglass mesh filters that some of them have got pretty dirty over time like a furnace filter does. I don't know how that dirt affects net free air flow but I'm sure it doesn't improve it.

Would compressed air work to unclog them? I assume it would be difficult to reach to appropriate part to spray.

Also, What's the typical installation charge for a ridge vent?
