My first post.

I'd like some advice on what product to use to fill this gap?

Can you use T-Molding if it's sitting against the Threshold?

Also T-Molding isn't going to help insulate so I'm hoping for ideas on what to use under the T-Molding.

The gap is 36" length. About 3/8" width.

Thanks for any help!

Looks like a new door/frame. If it is, the problem should during installation.

Go to HD....buy a threshold the same color....cut to size....it's going to take some work to get it straight....

Fill the gap with thinset, grout or mortar...then push the piece into place.

Or...cut a strip of wood....glue into place or use concrete anchors.

Personally, I'd use mortar

We purchased the house in March 2013. The original door that was on was wooden, painted black and cracked down the middle I'm guessing due to heat from the sun.

The scumbags that did most of the work on this place before they flipped it came back and installed a second door (incorrectly) and I was too much of a newbie to realize this. Even gave them a $20 tip.

The realtor that helped us buy the house is also a friend showed me how the door wasn't even touching the weatherstripping at the hinge side of the door. I don't even know how that was possible unless they hung a door on a different frame? Who knows?

So I had to have a 3rd party come out and install a 3rd door that I purchased from Lowe's. Filling in that crack was not part of the deal.

Honestly from the issues I've had so far with my first home I'd rather do stuff myself. I'm clueless and I will probably still provide better results.

Measure the width of the gap, then get the right size backer rod to fit the gap, bring up Amazon.com on your PC, put sonneborn np-1 in the search box, this stuff comes in an array of colors, so scroll down a bit to the black color 10.5 oz tube, when it arrives you can go to work, and fix your problem.

You don't have a video on YouTube about this stuff by chance? Just a random question as I've watched one earlier with those 2 products. Thanks!

If you're feeling adventurous... I would unscrew the black part of the frame and then fill it with Great Stuff window and door foam. Find or make something to replace the black piece that is a little wider and screw it on. Maybe some type of rubber threshhold or wood.

I'd just go to any tile store, or even Lowes or HD in the tile area and buy some matching colored sanded caulking.
Mortar or thin set should not be used there, it's just going to crack.
Any air and water sealing should have been done under the doors threshold, to late for that now.
