I recently installed a new 12mm laminate floor which is approx 1/2" thick with the pad. I need to bridge the laminate with 3/4" stair nosing at the top of a staircase. What would be the best molding to use to encumber the 1/4" vertical rise at the edge of a staircase? Thanks.

Please change your mind and remove the 3/4" nose and get the right one to match the laminate. Someone is gonna go flying down the stairs and human bodies are not meant to bounce.
Nosings are made to go with all laminates and hardwood. Should have installed that first though, but not too late.

Yep Take the 3/4 off and go buy the laminate nose designed for that
