Color? Actually it doesn't matter a whole lot if you buy quality paint from a real paintstore like Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore. More importantly, you must do proper prep on your house's exterior to get a long-lasting paint job. Pressure washing off mildew, dirt, grease, and grime is a start. Scraping and sanding loose paint areas is imperative. Apply a quality primer to bare spots and topcoat with a 100% acrylic latex paint like SW's SuperPaint and you will get 5-8 years of service before the next repaint.

Darker colors do tend to fade more than lighter colors.

You should focus on the quality of colour, good quality paint will remain for a long time. I think dark colour would be appropriate and long lasting.
