What to use to fill gap

615 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  john91
My husband and I just laid down engineered hardwood in our living room. We did not leave a large enough gap between the first row of flooring and the ceramic tile. There is not enough room to to fit a wood t-piece in the gap. We need to fill this gap somehow so dirty does not get in. Please any ideas?

Choices:
-Open up the gap so you can fit in the T-piece, using maybe an oscillating saw.
-If you have access to a table saw, cut a strip of engineered hw to fit.
-caulk it.
-use some more of the grout from the ceramic tile to fill.
-get a transition strip from HD that uses four or five small nails to hold it down, rather than the T.
