I have a old house that i'm remodelling. i just finished the bathroom walls and i want to know what to put over the sheetrock. my wife wants to paint and i am what to do?

Prime and paint sounds like a good idea (especially if that is what she wants). 
What else were you considering? Wallpaper? Tile?
