Our 16year old Maytag just died and we had buy LG washer/dryer. But there was issue with delivery and few of other issues from Costco, we decided to return and repurchased through Lowes.

When LG was picked up, they try to shut down both cold and hot faucets, but there was drops continued from both faucets. I had to let driver to take appliances and leave because I didn't think there will be problem having washer connection box. But last night, I was cleaning/moving furniture from rec room and found wetness on carpet. Meantime, I found 2 hoses from garage and connected both faucet to make sure any drip will go into bucket not washer connection box. Since this change, I don't see any water on floor.

The washer was picked up about 4-5days ago and I do see about 1 cup of water collected in bucket since hose connection.

Tomorrow, we have new washer/dryer delivery and quick drying of floor, we are able to install hardwood floor today in rec room. But I don't want any water issue later because we are putting expensive hardwood floor into rec room.

Sorry for long story. Anyway, anyone had this type of problem? What is causing this issue?

Is the, "washer box" a tray that the washer sits in? Does it have a drain connected to your waste pipe?
How did the water get into another room if the hoses were in the drain?
If the water doesn't completely shut off when you close the shutoffs, repair them.

The washer box was meant, washer connection box. This is box with both cold and hot water faucet is located and has big hole in the center where any drip happens from either faucet will go into instead of flooding the floor. The rec room is right behind this faucet.

I do understand, this washer connection box is supposedly collect any extra drip from faucet and safely drain from the area.

So, I don't know, what is real problem? I do agree extra drip should be repaired when not in use.

Check to see the connection from the washer box is leaking. There is a pvc pipe connected to the box. Check to see if it was glued properly. Then check to see if the connections down the pipe are also glued properly.

I don't know, if it's normal. But there's about 1 inch diameter hole in the center of the box and small 1/8-1/4" hole right under the faucet each side. Is it normal to have two small holes under faucet?

I am going to check out new washer connection box to see if we need to replace this.

Take some photos of the box and pipes.

I will be willing to bet that the packing nuts on the valves need to be tightened. The water drips may be coming from around the stems on the valves. The washer box is not water tight and is not intended to collect water from leaky valves. The valves simply come up into the plastic box thru knockout holes in the bottom. These are not water tight and are not meant to be sealed. The water is not supposed to leak from the stems.

So you're saying when the valves are shut and no hose is connected they are still flowing a small amount of water? That just means the valves are not sealing completely. I had a small flow on my hot water side when I removed the hoses the other day to do some work. Once the hoses are connected it doesn't matter. The washer has internal valves that will close and the hoses have seals so the water will not go anywhere.
