Hi! My furnace exhaust pipe has a small leakage in the pipe joints in my attic when raining. See the picture http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/followshot/Duct.jpg . What material is best to fix the leak in the pipe joints?

We need a picture of the roof connection and the cap on the flue up in the roof---

water should not be inside of that flue----don't kill your self on a ladder---take the picture from the ground-----

I had a problem similar, turned out to be condensation from the warm pipe and cold air. I used a muffler sealer, it worked. There are several new products that will seal that. There is a high heat resistant silicone that you can get at an automotive store that would work great.

Thanks for the info, BigJim. I will check the muffler sealer in the Auto Zone. By the way, I read the Epoxy is best to fix the leaking pipes at joints. Has anyone tried it? In addition, oh'mike, is the furnace exhaust pipe supposed no ANY water inside of the pipe at the time of raining? I think the wind-driven rain or condensation may cause a little water inside of the furnace exhaust pipe that goes through the roof. Is it not possible?
