Not sure what kind of wood this, I think it is pine. How to care for it? This Sun room is not heated year round and not cooled in the summer. It does have a odd smell to my family.

What can i do to help the smell or give it a fresh smell.
Thanks Brian

At first glance I thought Knotty Pine, but, looking closer, maybe cedar? especially if it has an aromatic wood smell.

If it's cedar, I don't think you want to seal it as the "smell" is something most people like! If it's pine, you can seal it with polyurethane.

You might want to test a small area out of sight before applying urethane on the whole wall, sometimes polyurethane will wrinkle over some finishes.

It looks like cedar to me.

If you put a finish on it, you may darken it. I have cedar my famiy
room and in a bathroom...I whitewashed the walls in the family
room, and love it.
