It is semi-basement door for back yard, open the door and walk up 5 steps of stair, it is back yard. I almost never use this door.

There is big gap between door frame and wall, upper part is fine (no gap), gap is between low part of door frame and wall.

Should I leave it as it is or should I apply some kind of sealant? If sealant, please recommend one, preferably Home Depot product link or Amazon product link.

Thanks.

First, is the door square and plumb? if not, it needs correcting. If it is square and plumb, and not leaking air, I would leave it as is. You could always install 1/4" backer rod and caulk the gap with Alex plus, wiping with a damp sponge to tool it smooth. It does catch your eye as it is, however.

+1. Interior side caulking give you a myriad of choices. Stay in the paintable family of products.

Backer rod, tape to the wall, tape to the trim, install acrylic latex, tool down for a nice finish, pull tape...paint as necessary after full cure.

Done and Done.
