If you are just trying to repair the bad grout job, no need to replace the tile.

If you are looking to buy more of the same tiles, take your photos to a good tile store. (Big Box Orange or Red/Blue won't be able to help.)

I AM planning on trying to repair the bad grout job but not trying to replace the tile. That said, yes, I'd like to know, in case I need more as well as figure out what to use for day-to-day cleaning & care as well as cleaning the bad caulk job on top of the marble face. ;)

No, about as far from the NW as I can be and still be in the Continental U.S. With that said, anyone know how I can update my location? I went to CP > Edit Your Details but got the following message...

"a1481155, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

I have no clue how that works. But why not try "signature"? There you can type your name permanently along with a location. Us knowing your rough location helps us give better answers. Heck you might be anywhere there's an internet connection available.

That marble is Carrara or one of several dozen other similar types. Anything you buy now will not match. Even unused spares from the same batch would look different, so do not disturb them unless you have not choice.

Clean with mild ph neutral detergent or buy one made for natural stone. Do NOT use acidic cleaners. Most grout cleaners are acidic, so be careful if you ever try to super-clean the grout. You can/should seal the tiles and grout using a good penetrating sealer. Apply several coats after a good cleaning. Post here again with our thoughts on products you're considering.

I see you're in FL. by your other thread. ok.

I don't believe I can edit my signature either...Where do you do that?

I'm not buying any marble, I just want to know what it is so I know how to care for it, moving forward and not F*** it up. TBH, I am not considering any products, yet. I just started doing research and seeking guidance on a cleaner and since you mentioned it...A good penetrating sealer. ;)

To edit your signature or add a location---go to the task bar and click on 'quick links'

There you will find what you seek---

you will find 'user CP'---under that is 'edit signature' and 'edit details'---

If you want a bunch of options---look at the task bar--on the far left--you will see 'user CP'--that screen has more stuff you can mess with--mail--and lots more.

What sealer do you recommend as a good penetrating sealer?

Yes, South Florida. ;)

Thanks for the question......

I believe you can not go wrong with one of Miracle Sealants products. To seal polished marble, I would suggest their 511 Porous Plus. They claim it's "The Best Performing Penetrating Sealer on the Planet". I trust them. If you want a general purpose cleaner for marble, their Tile and Stone cleaner is as good as any.

Thanks for the reply!
FWIW, I am only planning on sealing the new grout not the existing marble.
Oh...and why is that? How are you gonna avoid the tiles? Bad plan.
