Hi All

I just wanted to get an idea of what this might be in the lawn. Please see pictures.

It has “shoots” coming out. Would Quinclorac get rid of these?

Thanks!

@007noob! Howdy!

That isn't Crabgrass, which is an annual grass that comes up every year. I think it's still too cold up in NJ (thanks for putting your location in your signature! A gold star!) for it to start yet. I agree with @SeniorCitizen and @Colbyt.

That looks more like Kentucky 31 tall fescue which we had in my mom and dad's lawn in Ohio. It's lighter green, much coarser textured, and grows much faster than the more desirable blue grass / rye grass seen in most lawns, and it's perennial.

Crabgrass killer won't kill it.

But you can try.

Crabgrass is pictured below. Your grass is not it, I'll almost bet 1,000 rolls of TP and a Covid mask on it.

That first pic is easy, bear poop after eating a big black rat snake. On the second pic, please gimme a little time to research.:smile: thanks

Ok, i researched and my pic app says it's Goose Grass with a few other common names.

More research -

It’s green so I mow it and call it a lawn.
