Hi, Need the experts help on this. I am redoing our kitchen floor which is very uneven, my husband said Scratch coat would level out the floor but it doesnt seem to be doing the trick. I suggested Self leveling compound he told me its expensive and scratch coat would do the same? Is this true or is he just trying to fix it cheaply. I dont mind spending the extra money to do the job right then to have to do it over again.
2) question, is it ok at this point to put the SLC on top of the scratch coat already on floor?

I appreciate your help with this. -Dreaming of a level kitchen floor..lol
