Lichens. Probably on the North side. EZ may work. I'd try it on inconspicuous place to make sure it doesn't harm the finish. Vinegar and a tire brush may help, too.

What is it exactly, on my aluminum siding? Some kind of mold i guess?
Would something like E-Z Armor house wash remove it?
Or something else?

Mold "shouldn't" grow very well on painted aluminum. Mold loves organic material.

Did that just appear recently? All of a sudden, in one day?

Is there a source of moisture nearby, maybe a clothes dryer vent?

No, not all of the sudden...but it's growing
There is a lot on the south wall, almost nothing on the north wall !
