My outdoor garage flood light burned out about a week ago. I just hadn't had time to replace it. During the recent ice storm we had, by force of habit I flipped the switch. And the light turned on and was working fine. Now that all the ice has melted the light won't turn on again. The power in the garage is all working fine, no problems anywhere. So could somebody please tell me how in the world this could have happened? Thanks so much !

Does it have a sensor on it? Or it just a bare fixture that only comes on with the switch?

No sensor. The light will only come on if we flip the switch.

Could be all kinds of things. Loose connection, loose bulb, corrosion in the fixture socket, etc. I would start by checking for power at the fixture with the switch on.

Maybe its sorta like the Griswalds house... Maybe there is another switch that controls this switch that controls the light

Check that the lamps are still nice and tight in there sockets !
Remember when things get warmer ! they tend to expand a little !
So they might just need to be tightened up a bit !
