Thanks ED,

I bought a Delta Power miter saw from a pawn shop last year and I think they had been using it to cut shingles with it, I had to take the saw apart to clean all of the tar and mess with deisel, I got it cheap, but I spent a couple of hrs cleaning it..
I would think that a saw would leave a rough end.

What is the best kind of valley on a 4/12 roof, valleys are about 20 feet long ??
Thanks...BJ

A 24" wide sheet metal valley made of 24 Guage Kynar 500 coated process paint for color would be my preference, along with copper metal.

With either, a full 3 foot row of Grace Ice and Water Shield would be an inexpensive insurance policy for lasting a long time.

Otherwise, the I & W Shield plus an open shingled valley, meaning that one side runs past the valley and the other side gets trimmed with a larger taper as you get lower to the eave edge.
