I need to replace the wooden drip edge that has rotten out in many places with something more durable - like a metal flashing or drip edge. However, I want to retain the look but not have to think about this for a long time. Is the bottom one even needed? I only have access to Home Depot and Home Hardware here in Canada - if you could recommend something that would be great.

The best I have found so far was this stuff. Okay for the bottom. If I even need to put the bottom on?

The top piece.... I would prefer something that could slide up under the siding. This vinyl piece leaves involves taken off the bottom siding board, top nailing, and then face nailing the siding board. If i take of the siding a i would rather have a type of L shape that would wrap upwards under the siding.
