Just noticed a couple of days ago that there is a mound of what looks like brown rocks that have accumulated next to one of our garage doors in the driveway. The pile of rocks seem to be mud-like - they break apart if you crush them. There doesn't seem to be anything going on on the other side, inside the garage itself. No sign of entry or any kind of tunnel leading out.

Any idea if this could have been done by a pest or animal of some kind? It did snow a lot here last month (about 2 feet) and it's all melted now, but I don't think this pile of rocky mud was here under the snow beforehand. Should I call a pest company to check it out???

Maybe some accumulated dirt fell from under your auto, and got pushed close to the building.

Is there signs of a rodent digging at the foundation there, the picture don't show a hole from this angle.

I don't see any hole. I told my husband to just dig the stuff away so we can see if there's anything there, but he wanted to show it an exterminator first to determine if it looks like anything an animal or pest would do. We just bought this house a few months ago, so we don't know what might be around here.

And when snow was taken away, it was hand shoveled by a local kid; no plows were used. Thanks much for your insights.
