got a call 2 weeks ago from a client who probably gives us 20 wet basements a year,,, trust me, the ONLY guaranteed repair is a full perimeter sub-floor leak management system w/pump,,, 'we'll do drylock ourselves.' budget issues
today another call so back i goes,,, seems they did drylock & put down a tile floor - not true tile but the linoleum cut into wood grain tiles - hi-tech linoleum is now called hi-performance something-or-other
of course the bsmnt floor's a mess & all the tile's ruined not to mention the sheetrock leaning up against the walls + studs
'i have identified where its coming in.' sez he - 10' here + an adjoining 15' around the corner',,, i pointed to drylock bubbling & already falling off the walls from hidden moisture but he's got his own mind
here's the point - cheap out on work & you'll pay more in the end
we hear it every day - 'i don't have $ in this job to fix it right.' our answer's 'you'll be back when the buyer sues you.' who's fault is it you paid to much for the shack ?
