Well pump question

1641 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Davidb6
I've lived in my house for 12 years and never watered my lawn due to the well. Yesterday was the first time I watered the lawn....new grass seed / dry weather..and I ran out of water.

Question - I always assumed I should not try to water my lawn given I have a well but, is this assumption right or could there be something wrong with my water supply?

Don't know the well pump capacity, new (3 months old) 85 gal WellXTrol (pro) water storage tank. Simple old fashion back and forth lawn sprinkler.

Thanks

From your description it sounds like your well can not supply the water needed for lawn watering. It should recover if you reduce your water usage for a couple of hours. Perhaps in future water for a shorter period and give the well a break to recover. How long were you watering before you ran out?
