waterproof bathroom

Planning on gutting bathroom and tiling walls. After I gut the walls down to studs, I was planning on stapling felt paper as a moisture barrier and then hardy backer. After research I discovered redguard. With redguard can I skip felt paper? Was thinking just putting up hardibacker directly to studs, then applying two coats of redguard. Does this sound accurate? Thank u all in advance!!

Use the red, leave out the black.
Never want to have two vaper barriers.
check out "kerdi"
Thats what we did in our recent bathroom reno. I had never heard of it previously but in my research in stood out as the best option.

Its the best option so far from what I read recently...
If you are talking about a shower, the previous posts are right on.
If you are talking about bathroom walls, waterproofing to that degree is not really necessary.
