Hi from Canada,

I have an LG fridge (LFX25778ST) with a water and ice dispenser. Because I have a finished basement with drywall ceilings I did not install a direct water line. I installed a 24 ft long poly tubing line with a needle valve going from the pipe under the sink, through the cabinets and the pantry to the fridge. There are no sharp bends on the line

The problem that I have is that the pressure coming out of the water dispenser is really bad, it takes almost 5 min to fill 1 Qt. To compound the problem, the filter in the fridge seems to lower the pressure even more as it gets used.

I was thinking of a pump but no idea on the type to use.

Any suggestions?

Get rid of that saddle valve and install a real stop.
Easiest way may be to just replace the stop to the sink and replace it with a two headed stop.
Saddle valves are not even legal to use in some places due to there being leak prone and have a habit of plugging up.

Next time you are at the store where you bought the saddle valve, stop and look at one. pay attention to the needle and see what size hole it makes in the pipe. I will bet that it is barely 1/16" dia. Kind of like filling a swimming pool with a kinked hose.
