Hello. I’m installing a new water softener and the main coming in is 1 1/4” but the softener bypass is 1”. How significant of a drop in the volume will it be if I reduce from 1 1/4” to 1” at the softener? Thanks

Not enough to matter, once it's ran inside the house it's likely 3/4" if your lucky.
