just installed a water softener, but I don't see any water in the tank or see any movement with the system (it is plug in to the wall) when do i see the process or see it working?

What kind of softener is it? What brand?
There are some that put water in at the start of the Regen cycle and then there are others that put water into the brine tank at the end of the cycle.

If the bypass is correct and you have it pushed for IN Service then there might be a flashing icon that shows that water is flowing.
There is also a button that you can push that will start a regen cycle, might have to push it for about 5 seconds for it to start, first point on the stop would be the brine tank fill..

In the book there are step by step points to start the unit up.
