Hey everyone. So I got this water softener in my apartment and it was working fine for over a year. A couple weeks ago, I noticed it started leaking from the top. I've talked to a couple of friends and was advised to check the rotor valve, which I did - it seems fine. I am puzzled now - what other things I could check?

Dry it all off really good and try to locate exactly where the water is coming from. Can you post a pic??

Yeah i did that! Thanks for the advice. Once I did that I saw that the leak was coming from the hot water nipple. Took me some time to fix it, but now we are up and running again.

Why does your water softener have a "hot water nipple", and why didn't you just look there in the first place? The thought of actually trying to look for where the leak might be coming from never occurred to you before jmon told you to do it?



Seriously though, what is a "hot water nipple" and what's it doing on your softener?
