Hello,

Do most modern dishwashers have an initial water sediment filter BEFORE the water actually gets into the unit? (NOT the internal food particle filter later down the line.)

I am having a well water issue and had to clean out all of the water sediment filters on the household sinks. In pulling out my recent model GE dishwasher, I can find no obvious indication of one. The plumbing goes through the water shutoff valve first, then to an open chamber that empties into the dishwater tub. I guess that I am a little surprised by this, but happy that if there is no such filter, it will be one less plumbing issue to deal with the next time my well acts up.

Peace,
Dr. Z.
