good afternoon,
my problem is this. the 3/4" water line from service to my water heater (hot water line) is leaking. the top part of the pipe is pvc, then the 2 nut, pvc connecter, and into the copper pipe that leads to my water heater. i purchased a new 3/4" X 3/4" coupling, followed the instructions, and turned back on the water from outside. i still have a leak at the top of the coupling where it is pvc. i took everything apart and reassembled it, making sure that everything was tight, but it still leaks. any advice?

in following the instructions

first, thank you for taking the time to offer me some help. i'm using the qest qbc44 3/4X 3/4" coupling. i also asked the guy @ home depot should i use any type of sealant, both he and the instructions on the pack state that you should not use any type of sealant. i'm out there now trying to get it right. i hope this works, man i need a shower!! thanks again for the info...

good evening,

i found out that my problem was that the pvc end of the pipe needed to be cut, once i did that then everything fit tight and when i turned the water back on... no leaks! thanks again, this is a GREAT site and i will be checking back..
