Hello everyone I found this site searching for a water leak problem I have! anyway I have a copper pipe that's leaking in my attic and my plumber is out of town till next Sunday and I can't get a hold of him! I was wondering what I can use to seal the pipe temporary leak with out soldering? PS it's not that big of a leak.

quick fix

If the pipe is accesable then you can do a quick repair. Is the leak at a joint, a fitting (i.e. elbow or a Tee), a tear or is it just a pinhole? In the mean time shut off the water to your hot water heater to stop the leak from spraying. You can use a piece of bicycle inner tube and some hose clamps to cover over the hole and clamp down on the pipe to stop the leak. It may take a couple of tries, but it should work to stop or sigificantly slow the leak. Good Luck

this is a DIY site so if you'd like to fix it, you're in the right place. it's actually can be very simple. can you take a picture of the area dripping? you might be able to just pop in a sharkbite fitting and be done with it!

Yes it's at the elbow I turn off the water and dried it out and use a poxy compound I had don't know the name of it, but thats all I have for now.

Dangermouse has a good idea. You can cut out the leaking elbow and install a Sharkbite elbow in its place. They are a push on fitting that are easy to use and plumbing code approved. Home Depot should have them
