Over a period of time the water has slowed to a trickle from my cold water tap in the bathroom sink. The water is fine from the tub faucet and the hot water is fine. I have replaced the cartridge and put a new shut off valve on but still no water. Any ideas? Is there any thing else I might try before calling a plumber?

Is there a screw off cap on it? If so, unscrew it and clean the gunk out of the screen.

You shut off valves should be checked---put a feed line on the valves and run some water into a bucket--if bad replace--

Then the faucet itself---sometimes a bit of the cartridge rubber will break off and plug up the valve body --clean out the valve body with sandpaper and flush it out--it that doesn't do it call the plumber--or come back with more questions.
