Hi

I'm new to the forum and looking for advice.

I am currently in the process of purchasing a house in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, but it has water in the basement. Can anyone point me in to clear step-by-step instructions, including photos if possible, on how to lay a tile drain around the outside footing of the house and specifically ways on how to remove the water should the gradient around the house prove to be too high to simply drain the water away naturally.

Thanks

Do you have the ability to dig down to the footings all around the house to install this system? If you do, do a google search for weeping tile systems to get the step by step procedure.
You can have it 30 seconds after you push "enter".

Or...do a search on this site. It's been covered a few times.

just be careful about the digging. if your footings are lower than 4' then you need to give due consideration on excavation safety.

a book i got from the library which was excellent was "the original basement waterproofing handbook". check it out.
