Washing machine emergency drain pan

Is the washing machine (on a 3rd story condo) required to have an emergency drain pan if there is a drain inlet in the floor?

Good question for your local building department. No one here knows where you are or what you local codes may call for.

Thanks, Joe. Sorry. I'm in Houston, TX, but found out that Houston doesn't really enforce this code.
