Hello everyone. I removed our washer and dryer from the main floor and relocated them down to the basement over a year ago. Now I want to use that space where they used to be as an extension to our kitchen so I will be putting in base cabinets (hanging cabinets already exist in this oversized closet). As part of this I need to remove a gas line, remove a 220 outlet, remove the old drain pipe, and remove the old water lines for the washer.
I have a question about my water lines and the shut off valves for them. The water line hoses (hookups) are located about a foot off the floor. The shut off valve (think shower handle) are located 3 feet above them so they would be accessible when the washer was in there. I can't get my head wrapped around how these work. I've searched for images of this but can't find any. Can anyone give me advice here? Am I going to need to tear off the drywall to remove these properly?
