Hi! I'm building a custom stackable washer/dryer closet/area for LG washer and dryer (new) on second floor of house and am asking if a drip pan is necessary under washer and, if so, would it be able to contain a leak from, say, a faulty water inlet valve? I'm going to use stainless braided supply hoses for washer.
I'm also curious as to whether this pan, if used, would contribute to washer shake/vibration (I know you have to remove the shipping bolts from back of washer!) I've seen people screw squares of plywood onto subfloor with holes drilled in them to mount washer legs in to prevent walking, but I don't think this would be practical with a drain pan.
I have a feeling pan is necessary. Any suggestions on brands of washer pan?
Thanks for any replies!
