Hi,
My kitchen has a new wall oven in place of the old one. When we installed the original one it came with some molding which we glued on around the outside giving it a covered look.

15 years later the oven broke and the molding, some kind of laminate or vinyl that came with our cabinets from South America, has fallen apart and I need to replace it.

The molding is roughly 1"x1" thick. It's damaged and can't be reused.

Is there something I can buy to install around the edges of the oven or can somebody suggest how I can construct new molding? If i buy 1x1 strips, cut them to the required edges, can i then somehow apply a vinyl or laminate to them with an iron the way you do with shelf edges?

All suggestions are welcome. Is there a way to attach photos?

Didn't your new oven come with a matching trim kit? Or do you need something in addition to that? Yes, pic would be helpful and you can attach with one post, but need a few posts to be able to link to 3rd party

The new GE oven model JT5000SF4SS did not come with any kind of trim, or at least not with the kind of laminate finish I need. I called and asked and they said they had nothing for my oven.

Of note, I recently bought a new microwave to replace my 30 year old one ....and the trim kit to build it into my existing cabinet cost more than the microwave! I was able to re use the old trim kit with some creative addition of a bit of formica

If the cabinet opening size was within the oven's spec, it should cover any gaps. My opinion is put something thin behind the oven face to hide those gaps, not interfere with that GE curve, and also covers what looks like a mortise inset on the one side? I like ront's idea of formica if you can match that white or go with a metal look.
