I am going to mount lights on a perimeter block wall and I don't want to put a junction box inset in the wall. Does anyone know of a box I can use to mount to the block wall and then mount the light to it? Some of the lights I have looked at had a 6"x9" base. Obviously it would have to be watertight. I was thinking I could maybe make them out of wood but I wasn't sure it would meet code. If anyone has info on that I would appreciate it too.

thanks all for the replies. I will be using conduit coming up from the ground to the wall light box. all to code. just trying to find the types of boxes that will fit the lights. with the wall lights on a house mounted against say stucco the lights are flush and a round box is inset in the wall for the connections. With putting the lights on the wall surface i would like to have the boxes the same size as the base of the light. seems like all the LED lights i have looked at have an oblong type base. I can't believe they don't make the boxes the same size for surface mount on the wall without have to put the box inset into the block.
